Woko
Hello folk. I am thinking of buying one of the above. I have made some space under my stairs for my Fender bliues delux and thinking of using the epiphone amp around the house. (fender for giging only) I was just wondering what amp junior or special . What your opinion.
slim_blues_boy
well, for me, I don't like onboard DSP, so I choose Valve Junior.

cGil
You can get much better tone, as well as more fx in each patch with a cheep multi-fx pedal. Gil...

klast
I have a VJ combo (version 2). I also had a Valve Special in parallel with the VJ for a while. I thought the Special looked good on paper, with gain/master, 10" speaker and built in EFX. Thanks to the gain/master, it provided a nearly acceptable, somewhat bluesy, preamp crunch at apartment volume. It sounded very dark and muddy, though, especially when played clean. In comparison, the VJ's clean sounds a lot better, and the VJ is much louder, too, despite its smaller speaker. The reverb was nearly OK, as was the delay, but the rest of the EFX were not good. BTW, Epiphone has discontinued the Special. Klas
