Big Al1281734081
I purchased a used Epiphone Special II last week. I was curious if it could be registered under my name. Or is there any reason to? As best as I can tell, it's fairly new (2007) and was produced in Indonesia. Just curious. Thanks for your replys. Whitmore Willy
Big Al, Welcome to the forum. You can always try to register but the main reason is for warranty. Epi is very specific. The warrenty is extended to the original retail purchaser only and may not be transferred or assigned to subsequent owners.
snookelputz
Almost all of them ask for the seller, date purchased and retail price, for "market research" purposes, I think it said last time I read a warranty. You may be (or may not) requested to provide a copy of sales receipt at some time, including before, during or after a warranty repair. Usually, manufacturers have no problem fixing something that should have been caught by QC and makes the guitar obviously less than playable even if they are quite sure it wasn't purchased new.
