Epiphone Riviera Nick Valensi

I 've been trying to put my hands on an Epi Riviera for quite a while now....here where I live they're a bit hard to come by....I'm not too much into Signature guitars...but the only one I can get is the Nick Valensi model (not Elitist).

How is it compared to the Elitist one or to the orginal 90s Riviera that is based on?

Thanks a lot!!

Can't say I've ever seen one, either...except in photos, on the website, or

those of seller's on E-bay. My guess would be, that the Chinese versions

aren't the quality of the "Elitist?" Not sure, about that, but...based on the

Casino's, as good as the Chinese versions are, the Elitist is Amazing!

So....???

I have the Elitist and love it. Sounds like a very articulate 335.

I have been looking for a new one too just to see the difference and compare. I live by a SA and GC and they just don't ever seem to get one in.

The standard line one is supposed to have the real Gibson P94s so I'm thinking it can't be that far off. Sorry wish I could give you a comparison.

Thanks guys for your answers! I'd also like to know if the new one is Korean or chinese...'cause I've read on some sites that it is korean...and on others..that it's made in China

The pickups issue is quite important too....although if the guitar is well built...I wouldnt mind changing the pickups...after all...I'm not buying it to look or sound like nick Valensi hehe. Its just my only option.

The PUs are not at all harsh. They are the Gibson P94s and the newer standard line one is supposed to have the same real Gibsons PUs.

Yes they do the slight P90 hum but not like a Casino or a Strat. The guitar it not dead quiet like a 335.

It is hard to describe but a bit of the warmth of a Casino with the punch of a 335. The best way I can describe it is a very articulate 335 that just rings forever.

Can't tell you MIK or MIC as I can't find one. I did not buy it to look like Nick either I went to buy an Elitist Casino and ended up with this as it was very different than anything in my collection.
