I know this is not a Gibson forum... But, you all seem to know a lot about Gibsons also...

I own on these http://shrinkster.com/11bp and I love the top and wood used for this guitar. The tone and playability is amazingly good. Craftsmanship is outstanding... I want to know your thoughts on why you think they are selling for so cheap.. I bought mine for 1200... A bargain...

I have to vote for 'too different'. The magic Les Paul formula calls for a maple cap on a mahogany body. You start dicking around with the cap material and people are going to avoid it. Which is not to say that zebrawood is necessarily inferior; it's just a conceptual thing. Then there's the whole 'look'of the guitar; while the zebrawood is very striking, there's just something 'right' about a 'burst Les Paul. For example I normally shy away from sunburst finishes, preferring solid colours... but when it's a Les Paul somehow it has to be a 'burst.

The swamp ash Les Paul Studios didn't sell that well either.
