natedagw821
Hey guys, I changed the strings like 3 days ago. I have been stretching them everyday and it's still going out of tune sporadically. I can't wait till i get paid because I want this thing set up! Thanks, Nate
natedagw821
Also, How many days does it take for the strings to completely stretch out? I am using Ernie Ball Super Slinky. -Nate
GlennW
I think you need some work done on the nut, or a new nut. Are you sure the strings are installed properly?
natedagw821
I am positive.
Bender 4 Life
How hard are ya bendin' them strings Nate?? Let us all know what it turns out to be, i'm sure we're all curious, (i know I am) Unless I do some really off the hook bends,(Hendrix,Nugent,Angus Young type stuff) I rarely go out of tune. natedagw821
Hey guys, I just got back from guitar center. It took the repair guy about 45 minutes to set up my guitar. He reglued the nut and he made sure everything is set up properly. One thing he fixed (that could really REALLY make tuning a *****) was the machine heads were REALLY loose. He tightened all of them up and he adjusted some other things; just thought I'd let you all know. So far, the guitar plays really GREAT. Hopefully, this will fix all of the problems I've been having. Question: Since he glued down the nut, should I refrain from playing for the next few hours or can I play it now? How long should I refrain from playing my guitar? He reglued it about 1.1 hours ago. The time now is 5:14pm EST. Thanks, Nate =)
lostindesert
The pressure of the strings keep the nut in place, you can play it now, enjoy ! Peter
