What's your most expensive guitar?

Well, since we are talking about GAS, quality should be considered...

What's your most expensive guitar? And, what price range do your guitars, or your collection average out to in terms of price?

My most expensive guitar is the Gibson LP Studio at 1300 dollars.

On average, the guitars I own (the electrics) probably average around 900 dollars. (5 total), and this includes post-upgrades, cases, and whatever else has been done...

Well... since I only have a cheap little strat copy from a no-name brand my most expensive is about $100. It's a pretty good guitar if not the best looking in the world.

GC

Don't feel bad, GC. My first guitar (and it was the only electric I had for 3 years) was a JC Penny Harmony Flying V.

My Gibson Les Paul Classic is the most expensive retailwise (just north of 2 grand now)...but it only cost me a stock standard us strat and 200 bucks. I buy used when possible, when we're talking higher end. I also have a good friend who wheels and deals gear...been taking his handme downs since childhood.

Most cash for a guitar spent is a grand for the SG Classic. I tried and failed to win 2 bids on ebay before going with MF instead. Couldn't wait anymore.

I like to buy the Epi's, or anything that's 600.00 and down, new. They don't cost too much, and I like to get a new one now and again. Average worth of my small collection is "priceless"...none can be sold! I have no intention of further cannabilization. But to put a dollar amount on them...maybe average would be 800ish, considering upgrades and such?

Lets see now my 1973 Strat cost £2500(bought Jan2008) I part exchanged a Gibson Les Paul classic so the strat cost £1750 cash.

I have just payed £1175 for a 1988 Gibson ES 335 dot. I must have spent a £6000 in the last 5 years.

At one time last year I hade Twenty guitars the wife was going to kick me out so I have slimmed them down 10 or so.

My most expensive guitar is a 1968 Fender Mustang. Competition red with racing stripes...and the average price for each of my guitars here in Argentina is about 1000 us dollars...would be like 560 dollars guitar in USA.

As you can see....is reaaally expensive to buy great guitars here in Argentina! hehe

Er um, I dunno If I should go there. Some things are better left unanswered. Let’s just say my most expensive stringed instrument of my collection of 27(26 guitars 1 Ukulele) is the Gibson R9 which I paid $4400 and my least expensive of my collection is the Little Martin which was $300. Actually the Uke is the least expensive at 250.

I never averaged them out as to what they cost me until now: I have six guitars (the main guitars being the Dot, Wilkdkat, and American Deluxe Strat) and the acoustic is unknown $, and two low end. The average cost on what I paid is $155.60 - - hey, not bad huh?

My Fender is at the top of the food chain and my Squier is are the bottom.

My Gibson ES-330 which I paid $300 for (used) is now worth between $3,000 and $5,000 if what they are selling for on ebay is any indication.

The most I've paid for a guitar is $425 for my Casino (also used).

The least I paid for a guitar is $50 for a used, MIJ-faux-fender-JBass

My 3 most expensive are my Gibby LP Standard, Ovation Elite LX and PRS Mira. Most of my other guitars were in the $600-$800 range, although with the new p/u's, switches, wiring, etc. on my Dot, I'm into it for more (but totally tickled). Looks like my "average" guitar cost is just about a grand.

Most expensive that I paid is the Black Beauty that was $425 + tax new/used(store thought it had been unused by guy who traded it to them due to condition). Lowest I paid was $200 so far not counting my stepsons pee wee les paul. Most expensive worth wise may be my BR-9 Gibson, only paid $370, but have not seen many go for that as of late except parted out.

My 2 most valuble guitars were also the cheapest I paid.

I have a '78 Gibson Les Paul - maple top, maple neck with rosewood fretboard. The guy needed some cash fast (possibly for illegit reasons) back in 1979 so he wanted $250 for it. My big brother let me borrow the money (I was only 13 at the time) and I still have it.

The other came to me a couple of years ago when a good friend died and his brother said I should have it. It's an Alverez Yari classical cut away.

I have 2 more expensive guitars - an SRV strat (with real brazillian rose wood) and I just ordered an Elitist dot - should come by the end of the week.

I have a few less expensive ones too.

My R8 GLP has the highest retail price NOW, but the highest purchase price

i've actually paid was for my V-Factor, $1050.00

The lowest priced guitar i've ever had was a '68 Univox Coiley(335 copy)

that I gave like $75 for because the bigsby arm was missing, and the

pressed paper case was trashed. (I wish I still had it, it sounded great)

Overall average would probably be $500-600 concidering the ones i've bought, sold, traded, trashed,

and customized through the years.

I have bought several Epiphone guitars both used and new and I would guess that most all of them were in the $450- $500 range.
