Just Strum Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 My thought on price: This may slow the price decent of the models and on the models that sold the least, it might help them a little more as they will be advertised as "rare" on the used market (read e-bay). I agree with Ron's used guitar comment. Only a few used guitars rise substantially in price and they are usually on PBS - Road Show.
Just Strum Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Welcome........... Lee That reminds me of my bad manners - The welcome goes to you, even if you been lurking, it's good to have you aboard.
JefferySmith Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Hey.........they were posts of the highest quality........ "Autistic"' date=' lol. Thanks, Lee[/quote'] Since I'm in an Epiphone bashing mood these past two weeks, the Washburn Idol "doublecuts" have gotten good reviews in Guitar Player. The ebony one at about $1,500 looks very good, and the caramel burst thing at $2,000 is enough to drop me to my knees.
Beaver Creek Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Lee' date=' I was questioning what was written like a statement of fact. ..."missile defense consultant guy" - I admire Baxter's guitar work, not what he now does for a living.[/quote'] Ron, Baxter..........excellent guitarist in my opinion also. While the guitars appreciation in value over time is not of utmost importance to me, I would like to take solace in the fact that at some date firewood could not give it a run for it's money. Lee

PBS - Road Show is the "Barrett-Jackson" of the antique world. Thank you for the welcome. Lee
tulsaslim Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 I own 9 elitists. I will be bird-dogging the internet retailers every day in hopes that one of them will 'blow them out' at reduced prices. If that happens, I will own a few more elitists. Sorry for all of you that don't have them.

JefferySmith Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 My backordered Sheraton Elitist is supposed to arrive at MF by tomorrow. If they push the arrival date back once again, I may either pop for the John Scofield semihollow or the Heritage H535. After all, I can get the latter in cherry burst [barf!].
Beaver Creek Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Thanks Tulsa' date=' I think you just helped me make up my mind.......... Do you happen to know David Goins?? Lee[/quote'] Well, now I can't find one in wine red........ Lee
Beaver Creek Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Dang, I was hoping the day crew might have some input on this too............ Lee
Rc135 Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Hey guys im new to the forums i had a quick question. I just back ordered a Epi elitist custom from muscians friend. They (epiphone) still have enough stock left to allow MF to backorder them right, i mean MF said they are supposed to get more but they dont know when they keep on pushing the date back meaning they dont know exactly when they are getting them. Do you guys think i waited too long and they are all gone or do u think it will get shipped out to me at some undetermined points. Thanks

However, If I were a betting man (which I'm not), my bet would be that you waited too long and they are gone, gone, gone. On the other hand, I could be wrong so let us know how it works out for ya.
