Guitar Chico
Sorry if they already have this, I'm not well informed on such topics. Personally I love the Clapton sound and that tie dye finish is pretty cool, so I'd love a Clapton SG. What do you think? GC
charlie brown
Well, that guy Ed Roman, in Las Vegas, has made "The Fool" SG replica's, in the past. I suppose he still does? Personally, I always like the "plain Jane" version...Like George Harrison's, myself. But, the tone of both, is great!! CB

charlie brown
Ed Roman. Isn't he the dude who owns the Mosrite name now? Well, I've heard rumors to that effect. He's pretty in love with himself, I'll say that! LOL! Can be OK, or a real "****" to deal with, apparently. I must have caught him on one of his "D" days, I guess...and was totally turned off, by his attitude. Too bad, too...as I was seriously thinking of buying a guitar from him, before I'd had that experience. Ohhhh WELL! It turned out well, anyway...as I discovered E.M. Shorts, and have purchased about 8 (I think) guitars from them. CB
leicester35
Apparently, the story goes that Gibson's Custom Shop were choosing between producing a version of Clapton's SG or his 335. Clapton himself pushed them towards the 335.
stan 58
Ya I bought a Dean from Ed, and he's a handful, but I love the guitar so it was O K. Stan.

charlie brown
Off Topic....US?????!!! LOL! I guess we went that way, after I mentioned Mr. "Unmentionable" was one source, for "The Fool" (or the "Tie-dye," as you called it) SG! So, I take responsibility, for that part, anyway. But, any SG, especially with '57's in it, will get you that direction. The rest will be up to your fingers. CB

I wish I could buy that before the banking system collapses here in the states! CNN is reporting a Nevada bank collapse where customers are losing 20 million bucks! Rich people mostly who had more than the insured hundred grand in it. Folks with the big bucks will be pulling out money left and right this week all over the country I think and transfering to avoid similar fates...look for increased credit shortages, cash flow problems. BUY GUITARS NOW! LOL Cursed to live in interesting times it seems? The sky isnt' falling-the ground is just rising. I Wish *I* could afford it now...it'll take a wheelbarrow full of money to buy a loaf of bread by the time I could afford that gorgeous 335 in today's money. Damn! It'll take truckloads to buy it by then!

I wasn't looking to buy one I was just wondering if you guys thought if epiphone/gibson should make and Eric Clapton signature sg. I was just saying that it would be cool to have one. supernova1281734074
Although not Epiphone - but Vintage guitars did the Fool SG and sells for about £600 - $1300 i guess, don't know what it sounds like. http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/shop/flypage/product_id/33910

leicester35
Actually, Todd Rundgren sold the legendary Eric Clapton "Fool" SG in 2000. "In 2000, Rundgren sold the Psychedelic Fool Gibson SG at a Sotheby’s silent auction, where it brought $150,000. This anonymous buyer re-sold the instrument several years later for an estimated $500,000." Source: http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/news/news-story/news_id/2066 I don't know where it is now. Perhaps in a bank vault somewhere, or, (worse still) on the wall of a Hard Rock Cafe in a glass case, while people sit underneath it eating cheeseburgers. I think it's sad that the legendary instruments of the great players sometimes end up being hawked around...as was the case with Peter Green's '59 Les Paul recently. Grinning people playing a few blues licks on it at a guitar show, which then end up on bloody youtube. At least Mrs Harrison bought George's rosewood Telecaster when it ended up at an auction. Cost her $470,000. http://www.thecanteen.com/harrison9.html
