Epiphone E Truss Rod Cover

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I don't know if this is the right place to post this but I'm looking for this truss rod cover to make a Lennon look alike. Anybody have one they'll sell or know where else I might find one. I'm watching ebay but no luck yet.

I got mine (2-hole "E") TRC from Gibson. Just gave them the serial number

of my Casino, and told them I wanted the vintage style "E" cover, and

they sent me one. It was some time ago, but you could try that...

I would guess, they have 3 hole versions, too.

No, mine was a "feebie," back then...but this was in the late '70's...maybe 1980..at the latest, when

I had my '66 Casino "restored." It was years before the "Vintage Craze," too...

They (Gibson/Epiphone) have to be making them, though, as the Lennon Casino's both have the (2-hole) TRC's.

I think the ones on E-bay are "original" '60's vintage ones. Gibson would at best give/sell you

one that's a "reissue." So, it shouldn't be that expensive....we can hope, anyway.

I just talked to Gibson CS. They don't have "Lennon" "E" truss rod covers, for sale...I.E. No spares.

Suggested I check on E-bay, Craigslist, or "Vintage Parts" dealers. I found a place ("Greatdealz1965")

in Kalamazoo, MI. that is selling "the last of their stock," of Epiphone truss rod covers (appears to be 3 hole),

without the "E." You could make a pattern, take it to a trophy engraver, and have the "E" imbossed, and then painted white. You could get some of that same kind of material, from Stew Mac, make the truss rod cover, with 2 holes, if that's what you need, and then take that to the engraver. Sorry...That's about all I can suggest, at this point. Good luck, Greg!

I was hoping, myself, that Gibson/Epiphone had them, so I could get an "Extra" one...in case something

happens to mine. ;>b

I emailed Gibson Charlie and got an answer back with a P/N EPTC-101 and they suggested I try some Gibson shops they listed to see if they had it. They didn't so I emailed 2 of them, stew-mac and wdmusic to find out if they could get one for me. I'll let you know what they say when I get an answer from them. I found a place on ebay that was selling blank 3 hole covers in packs of 4 so I bought a pack and thern and I'll see if an engraving shop can do the artwork on them if I bring them a picture of what I want.
