I would say, the one YOU like the most.

At the end of the day you have to play and look at it.

Solid colors or Bursts ?

P-90's or humbuckers ?

The cheapest or most expensive ?

Plain or fancy dress ?

Good luck with your choice =P~

Thanks guys but since I'm new to the Les Paul which ones have the fat neck and which the thinner neck.

The Slash, and the "50's necks" are the fat ones. The "60's necks" are the slim ones. I like the slimmer profile, but a lot of people like a fat neck.

The Les Paul Ultras have a nice following. Lighter in weight, and weight is sort of the Achilles heel of Les Pauls. My Agile weighs in at about 9 lbs.

What's your budget? That may help weed out some of them...

But, by all means, go play all the ones in your budget...or, even ones

that are a bit outside it. Might be worth spending a bit more, to get one

YOU really like.

I went with the Ultra-II for the following reasons: 1. Shadow Electronics Nanomag pick up for acoustic tones and greater flexibility of tones mixed with humbuckers. 2. Lighter weight (5.5 lbs). 3. Classic Les Paul otherwise.

Has thin neck, satin finish, BTW.

Thinking of picking up an Epi Les Paul but they're are so many models to choose from I'm lost. Any suggstions?

LP Standard Plus is a better deal than the Custom. And if you're not picky about binding or extras? The Studio!

hm... i might suggest you try standard and standard plus top or plain top ( i think they to have almost the same sound but correct me if im wrong...)

im not suggesting LP Custom because they are expensive and the different with the other is only in the bridge and pickup cover material ( they got "gold" hardware, so called gold but let say if its real gold it would be VERY expensive isnt it? )

ultra II is good also.. i think they are still made in korea

just play and see what sound do you like

If your budget allows I would suggest an Elitist. Hands down the best overall value in a guitar today.

I'll second that. I don't have an Elitist Les Paul, but if I wanted a really good Les Paul for around $1K, that's what I would buy. Get one while they are still available. (ASAP)
