jel1126 Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Anyone got some hint on why my Neck pickup's output became lower in volume than the bridge pu? Also my tone pot's dead. Haven't really looked closely but I suspect the pick up switch has a problem. Or maybe I need to replace the tone pot? Please help. Angelo
jel1126 Posted September 24, 2008 Author Posted September 24, 2008 Yeah your partly right Jody. I checked on it, and it turned maybe because I like to play w/ the switch on some solos for effect, contacts to switch pickups became loose. Also found out there's something wrong with the tone knob. After a few taps on the knob made it work. Got to order replacement parts, but at least the guitar works normally again. Thank you.
jody mauk Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 the toggle switches on the lp's realy arn't the best of quality...doing the randy rhoads or the zakk wylde toggle (CUTTING OUT THE SIGNAL OF THE PICK-UP)..usually tends to torqe 'em a bit (i do the same).....i just looked and e bay had some pretty cheap (and not the boxed kind) so you could pick up a couple...i'm doing the same.. just don't get any at like .......radio shack....
jel1126 Posted September 24, 2008 Author Posted September 24, 2008 Yup me too, ordered a pair of toggle switches at ebay yesterday, though not the Gibson or Epiphone branded ones but are, as I see from the picture are more reinforced at the base. The toggle on my Zakk W LP loosens up on the base when you engage it. Had to glue the sides to keep it firm.
lostindesert Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 You better post this in the Epiphone Electric forum, this is forum feedback ! More chance getting answers there then here. Peter
jel1126 Posted September 24, 2008 Author Posted September 24, 2008 I just needed fast advice that's all. After all I'm just a newbie here, just started a new topic to get tips or second hand opinions if they jive with mine. It did help posting it here, anyway, thanks, I'll do that in the future. Angelo
