Great Topic...

The one I miss is the first serious guitar that I saved up and bought with my own money.

I bought it new' date=' in Toronto in about 1982 or 83.

I miss my Ibanez Blazer!....Sweet neck, and it was a real rocker.[/quote']

I had an '81 Blazer I bought of eBay a while a go. It had this half assed transparent red paint and Gotoh trem that was home routed (sloppy, but worked great). I stripped the finish off of it and finished it with Danish Oil, I couldn't get some red out of the grain, so I left it and added some Seymour Duncans (pickups were non original to begin with), it was a huge improvement. I sold it along with 3 other guitars to pay for a Highway One Strat... which I sold to get my BFG. I'd definitely buy another one if I came across it at the right time. I put the Duncans in my MIM Strat for obvious reasons. It was an awesome guitar, I wish I still had it. l_a7de0d0f70b43b03337c78007232410e.jpg

I gave mine to my little sister, and I think it still resides at my parent's house. It was an Audition Strat style with I think 2 covered single coil pups... I believe they could be purchased at Woolworth's Dept Stores.

My first was an Aria Pro Knight Warrior. A Superstrat with Kahler trem.

Don't have it anymore.

I started playing in 86, the oldest guitar I have is my 94 Standard.

Next oldest is the 00 Standard.

And it's not like I didn't buy anything in the meantime...](*,)

When I got divorced in the late nineties I sold my black 93 LP Standard to a friend for $700.

A year or two later I offered to buy it back and he balked. Told him I'd let him make a little money on me....

His reply was that he didn't want to sell it at any price, he wouldn't have bought if he didn't want it to begin with.

He has an 81 Custom he bought new but always liked the way the black LP's and Strats look.

Kept his Custom put up, but let his boy play the black one some.

A couple years ago he mentioned his son was gigging regularly and had "used" the guitar extensively.

Told me I would probably cry if I saw it, since it was pristine.

Thought about it a little and decided the guitar was doing what it was meant to do - rocking!

Still haven't seen it, but I'm guessing there's been some good times had with that guitar being the center of it all.

Plugged into an old Marshall JCM 800 2210 and shaking the walls.....

Cool.
