Nickel or Chrome Hardware?

Hi Guys,....was interested to hear your thoughts on Nickel or Chrome hardware on a Epi guitar. I've always been a fan of Nickel hardware, as it fades with time and gets that vintage feel.

 

I guess it all really depends on the guitar though. Any thoughts?

I prefer the look of nickel. Chrome looks cheeep to me. That being said, most of my guitars have chrome...

Another vote for the Nickel hardware here!

 

I tend to make sure my guitars have the same finish hardware as the pickups ie; Chrome pups, Chrome hardware.

What does a std LP have nickel or chrome? I like the vintage look over time. Mine is still sparkly for now!

Chrome is like ebony...the slightest imperfection shows up like a trick mirror. Nickel.

I prefer the look of nickel, but on my Vintage Sunburst Sheraton I think gold looks better.

I prefer Nickel, mostly. Do "Asian" guitars come with Nickel hardward....I seem to see only chrome, on them...save maybe the high end Gretsch's.

Also...(for me) it depends on the kind of "chrome!" Some looks almost like nickel, because it's "warm" colored.

The "blue-ish" chrome looks Really cheap, to me...probably because it is?! My MIJ '61 SG has the warmer chrome,

and that doesnt' bother me, at all...

I replaced all the crappy gold hardware on my sunburst Joe Pass with chrome and it looks a LOT better, nickel wasn't as readily available. It's still an Korean guitar so the cost of high end hardware was pointless.
