Hooligan Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Howdy folks, First post here and my first LP I bought this from a buddy at work for 3 hund a couple of weeks ago. Since then I got a case from GC and had my luthier replace the plastic rings with chrome and added chrome covers. I really enjoy this guitar although it has a horrible time staying in tune. I have a west african Hard Ivory nut coming from Bob Colosi next week and may throw on some gotoh tuners if this thing contiues to give me tuning troubles. I may also replace the pup's with some SD 59's. Since I am new to the whole electric guitar stuff and know little about all the technical stuff that goes into getting the sound I want I'll hold off on the pup's for now. I really like the Incubus-Black Crows sound, so I'll have all kinds of questions about amp's, peddles, strings etc.
Whitmore Willy Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Hooligan, Welcome to the forum. Congratulations on the new guitar....I'm sure it sounds as good as it looks. Lots of good people here and no shortage of info.

I got it for really small $$$, less than $300 - way less. I just put a set of Thomastik 11 flats on it. Sounds great. T
Stevie Nazarenie Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 i just got a cherry sunburst. mine has wilkinson pups in and they are to my liking i won't be changing them anytime soon. so what model is this one? what should the cost have been and are they just white plastic fret markers? looks v nice.
Hooligan Posted October 1, 2008 Author Posted October 1, 2008 I'm not sure what model it is. The head stock only has Les Paul signature and the truss rod cover has Gibson on it. other than that I have no idea. I tried looking up the serial number to see what I could find. U01104918. All I could tell is that it was made in Ocober of 2001. The box tells me it was made in Korea. Outside that....... The UPC on the box reads MF LPCLASSIC F/M Jan 10 2002 I think the guitar took a few months to get from Korea to the GC warehouse. That would explain the three month descrepancy on the serial number and the stamp on the box. I cannot tell what kind of pup's it has etc.
