britpoper Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Hi chaps Just got my self a pair of gfs vintage 59s for my dot I have not got a clue where any of the wires go. Help
jcwillow777 Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 I used this diagram on my 59s. http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=2h_2v_2t_3w The colors might be different, but the SD diagram is easier to follow than the one that comes with the Vintage 59s.
britpoper Posted October 6, 2008 Author Posted October 6, 2008 I was just going to connect to my old pup wire .I don t really want to mess with the switches. Thanks
Stevie Nazarenie Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 are there any diagrams for a push pull tone pot? i ddn't get any with mine.
Steven Lister Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 are there any diagrams for a push pull tone pot? i ddn't get any with mine. Do a search for coil split mod. I posted wiring diagram links for the push/pull pots. The GFS Vintage 59 is a 4 wire humbucker (5 if you count the silver shield wire). silver shield = ground black = ground white = end of N coil (connect to red - no contact for humbucker' date=' ground for single coil) green = + positive red = end of S coil (connect to white - no contact for humbucker, ground for single coil) Good luck. The V59 is one terrific 'bucker. Hit every BLUE NOTE baaaby..., I'm going to play on:-"

I got some Alpha push/pull pots from GFS. I was told they are a little smaller than the CTS ones, so they fit into the cavities easier. It was definitely a tight fit in my G-400.

Stevie Nazarenie Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 that diagram is very different to what i ended up using. i copied the tone pot from a guitar i had with a push pull pot. it worked but it is too dark sounding as it is 250k pot. i have disconnected it as a tone pot and am using it as a switch only. i have just ordered some 1 meg vol pots and will see where i go from there.
