tcrewsman Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Hey guys/girls... i recently bough an AJ 500m back in June. After getting it set up and a couple months of playing, there has been a serious buzz developed when the capo is on the 4th,5th, and 6th fret. I took it to a luthier and he couldnt fix the problem. How do i got about getting in touch with epiphone or do i need to take it to guitar center where i bought it. Anything will help...i hate this becasue i really love this guitar.
bloozeguy Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 I'm guessing you're a more accomplished guitarist for this to actually be a problem, but I'm going to suggest it anyway because it's something I've run up against. Pardon me--don't mean tom offend or underestimate. Could the problem possibly be in the capo? Maybe not getting affixed quite right? I have trouble with mine on the 2nd fret--I use a Dunlop strap ("Oh, no wonder!" says everyone) and the right setting seems to be right between the 2nd and third notch, meaning 2nd is too loose and 3rd is too tight and may pull the strings distorting the tuning. Now, I wouldn't think it would be quite the same problem on 4-6 (I rarely have any problems on 5, which I use fairly frequently). Just a thought, and please disregard if it has no bearing on your case.
tcrewsman Posted October 8, 2008 Author Posted October 8, 2008 NO man...i appreciate you trying to help. WE have literally tried everything. i've tried about every capo on the market and the Luthier tried a couple of his and said he just couldnt see what was wrong either. He is the one who told me to contact Epiphone of in this case i guess Gibson...i just dont know how t ogo about the process. i think it is gonna cost me to send it back to them, but i was wondering if maybe guitar center would do something for me.
