What happened to this guitar. Is it still in production? Will it resurface?

 

Of all the masterbuilt's it's the one that interests me most. It seems to have dropped of the the edge of the world.

 

Anyone know something about this?

From what I read on the Epiphone webpage for this guitar, it's been "Discontinued".

I've been trying to find a dealer, whether B&M or online, with one for 2 years without success. Every now and then someone will find one at an online dealer, but they are snapped up so quickly that I've been unable to enjoy the thrill of victory, instead having to survive despite the agony of defeat :D .

 

My rep at Sweetwater dot com has had my credit card number for almost a year now, we've had Epiphone promise delivery and then fail at least 4 times.

 

Do a forum search for AJ500RC, you'll find plenty of reading material (most of which will probably be filled with my angst at , trying to get one of these).

 

As much interest as there is in this model, I can't believe that Epiphone is discontinuing it, but in retrospect it may be understandable. It is VERY different from any other model Epiphone offers, it may be a difficult to get them made in a factory that seems to be comfortable with peghead models.......such a shame!
