Grey Ghost Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Hi, I've been researching about Epi Casino and I've read or heard two different things. On wiki, Casino's typed as a hollowbody, but others say it's a semi. I've played it at a local guitar shop and it sounded pretty darn good. Can anyone clarify this?
ant7629 Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 The Casino is a fully hollow bodied guitar. A semi is a hollow body with a centre block in the middle to reduce feedback and increase sustain like the Sheraton or Gibson ES 335. That said, even though the Casino does tend to feedback a lot, they a truly amazing guitar and is one of my favs in my collection. I would definitely recommend one....or two :-)
Grey Ghost Posted October 10, 2008 Author Posted October 10, 2008 Thanks for clarifying ant. Hopefully, I can manage to get one in the near future.
TWANG Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 that feedback is also an asset.. it's controlable and can become part of your technique or style.. also, I have a sheri and it's no solid body in that department, either. I have to confess the feeling of air blowing out that upper f hole onto your arm is also way neat. TWANG
Notes_Norton Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Some call it feedback, I call it sustain ;) Actually, unless you play at extreme ear damaging sound pressure levels, your Casino should not feedback to the point where it is a problem. At the 85-100db that I play (ear damaging without ear protection) I have never had a feedback problem with my Casino (in fact, I can't get it to feedback at all at those levels). Jimi Hendrix also taught us that feedback is not a problem, but simply another guitar effect to use to the player's advantage. Insights and incites by Notes
