Another Casino Bigsby Query

Hello all. I will soon be receiving an Epiphone Casino MIK reissue. It was made at the Peerless factory in November 1996 and has the stock hardware.

I am considering putting a Bigsby B 7 Vibrato on it and am seeking advice. I've run some searches on this topic, but still have some questions.

For those of you who have installed a Bigsby on their Casino, are there any who have found the need to also install a roller bridge? If so, which bridge did you use?

Likewise, are there any folks who found it necessary to install locking tuners or change out the nut? If so, can you recommend specific brands or types?

Any other general advice regarding whether or not to install a Bigsby, and any installation tips would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

The Bigsby B-7 is a great mod to a Casino. On mine it added more sustain and tonal brilliance even when I'm not using the vibrato. Mine still has the original tune-o-matic bridge, and I'm completely happy with it --- no performance or intonation problems, so I see no need for a roller bridge.

Installing the Bigsby is quite simple if you have basic woodwoorking skills --- the only tools you need are a drill and a screwdriver. One recommendation is to attach the Bigsby with the end pin/strap button, then attach both E strings (1st and 6th) and tighten them enough to hold the Bigsby in proper position before you drill and screw into the top of the guitar. This will ensure the positioning is accurate.

My Casino is also a Peerless --- they make some very nice ones, I'm sure you'll enjoy yours when it arrives!
