vomer Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Had my '04 MIK (Saein) Sheraton for nearly a year now, and have been occasionally annoyed by the rough finish on the fretboard inlays. I thought they were actually set in unevenly, but in a bored moment today I had a closer look. One of the advantages to wearing glasses- take 'em off and it's like having macro vision- I could see that the rough feel was caused by glue or varnish collected around the edge of the inlays. Really tiny amount, but enough to affect. A careful scrape with a thumbnail cleaned everything up, and she's feeling much smoother now. I posted this as finding that residue on the 'board was unexpected, after a year of owning the guitar, so maybe this might be useful to somebody with a rough Sherry.
