justjazz Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Hi all. I'm new to Epiphone guitars. Just picked up a 90's Riviera and have a very noticeable "rattle" at the bridge on a couple of strings. Is this a common problem and/or can this be remedied somehow? I can't seem to locate where it's coming from exactly but I assume the saddle. Any help would be appreciated.
charlie brown Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Yep...very common. You could TRY to find the rattle, and then use clear nail polish, to settle the offending wire, or saddles? OR...(more than likely)...Get a new bridge at Stewmac (Tone Pros or Gotoh...in Metric). That should take care of it. I have a Korean Riviera, that has that same mystery rattle, too! I just haven't bothered (yet) to do anything about it, as it doesn't show up, through the amp. But, I will fix it, eventually... Good luck! CB
charlie brown Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 Also, if you use the "Search" feature, type in "Bridge Rattles," you'll get several other possible causes/solutions. It's hard to tell (obviously), what "your" rattle is, compared to the one on my guitar, but they are notorious for doing that. We keep hoping they'll FIX it, at the factory?!! LOL! CB
