Lennon Casino case and candy variations

Hey Folks -- picked up a Lennon '65 Casino the other day and noticed when comparing it to a friend's Revolution model, that the COA has a photocopied sig (though the stamp is in ink) and the case is a china made version, not quite as nice as the TKL he has, lighter, different vinyl, and without the embossed E inside or a combo lock. This also doesn't have the lennon bag with it (did that just come with the Revolution?) Otherwise, very nice. It was bought from an authorized Chicago dealer, so it's not a fake -- serial # is in the 20's, where my buddy's is in the 1000's -- did they start paying more attention to the details after the first few batches? Just curious ...

I've noticed the same thing when comparing my JL Revolution paper stuff to my pals, even the slight variation on the Lennon autographed inner label. But the guitars themselves are pretty darn consistent, considering the differences in our serials numbers being 500 apart from one another.

The case candy stuff means nothing to me, and the two inner body labels are an eye sore. They should have placed those two labels away from the f-holes... that's my only trivial complaint:-({|= ...... Other than that, it's a great guitar.

I`ve got the TKL case with the Lennon logo on the front, I wasn`t aware of any variance in the COA stuff, but from those I`ve seen it looks as though several different people over the production run wrote the numbers. The little white bag appears to have only come with the Revolution model (held that extra Black knob, and scratchplate fittings). As for the labels that msl109 refers to, I think the Blue Kalamazoo one is fine (they had them on the originals!), but I could live without the numbered White one, they could have just ink stamped a number in the lower F hole.

My guitar is 1171, if that helps.

Thanks folks -- My guess is they changed case vendors early in the run. I don't care about case candy per se, but 're shelling out the cash for a new guitar marketed as a collectible, it's good to know that all is intact, though I've no intention of ever selling it. For the record, the later cases are IMHO, much nice (and heavier).
