duane v Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 I purchased a used authentic revolution model (at a great price), but the pick up covers were removed by the seller because she felt it sounded better without them.... and now cant find them#-o Any info as to where I can get them would be great
charlie brown Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 www.gibson.com (Customer Service) would be a good start... Actually, any good Gibson/Epiphone dealer, should be able to get you those covers. Nickel, right? CB

CB[/quote'] if the covers on the authentic revolution model are nickel, then those would be the ones I would need to order... thanx!!! I spent all day Saturday removing stickers from the damn guitar.
charlie brown Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 Oh Lord...why would anyone put "stickers" on a "Lennon" Casino?! LOL! But, then I wouldn't have taken off the pickup covers, either. So, "Horses for Courses," I guess? Gibson has a 25/7 CS (toll free) phone number, and they should be able to give you the "part number" for those particular nickel covers. They do not sell direct, but through their dealers. Good luck! CB
duane v Posted October 12, 2008 Author Posted October 12, 2008 Oh Lord...why would anyone put "stickers" on a "Lennon" Casino?! LOL! probably for the same reason why my daughter put stickers on everything... LOL Her mom was really nice about everything, and she was willing to knock off $100 more from the price. But for the price I paid for the guitar, I wasn't about to complain.... though that $100 would have paid for most of my round-trip airplane ticket to Sacramento to go get the guitar... BTW thanx for the info=d>
duane v Posted October 12, 2008 Author Posted October 12, 2008 Well I just called the 1800# and the nice fellow told me they do not sell those individually, and I would need to send my guitar back to Gibson Repair to have it fixed:-k

Would they not give you that? CB

Would they not give you that? CB[/quote'] Charlie Brown Her mom called last night to let me know they found pick up covers=d> ... She is sending them over-night, so I should see them some tomorrow. On a side note: I'm really not digging the placement of those two labels located inside the body of the guitar. They placed them right where the f-hole is, and they stick out like a sore thumb](*,) ... They should have positioned them in an area where they cant be seen. Also as I was looking at the real John Lennon guitar, one of the volume knobs is black (like in your avatar).. Do you have an idea what knob that is so I can replace the gold one.
charlie brown Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Actually, it should have been included, as a seperate item with your guitar. Maybe she has that as well? Otherwise it's the same knob, only black...MF or Stewmac has them. It was only a temporary "fix" as He changed it back, to gold later, though. He also said, he was going to get it restored to it's original "sunburst" finish...but, unfortunately, he didn't live to get that done. He did get his little Rickenbacker restored to it's original "Natural" color (I.E. "Hamburg" days). CB
duane v Posted October 16, 2008 Author Posted October 16, 2008 Well I installed the pick-up covers last night, and let me tell you it's not as easy as it looks, (well at least for me). Getting the pick-up poles to line up with the pick-up cover holes wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. But all is good, and my guitfidel is complete. thanx for all the help.
leicester35 Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 He did get his little Rickenbacker restored to it's original "Natural" color (I.E. "Hamburg" days). CB Indeed he did...and what a beautiful guitar it is. Apparently this was on display at the John Lennon museum in Tokyo some years ago' date=' courtesy of Mrs Yoko Ono Lennon... [img']http://www.thecanteen.com/58rick.jpg[/img] Sadly he never got around to giving his Roller a respray however... quick black paint job, bit of T-Cut, would have come up lovely...
Greg Curtis Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Beautiful Rick, ugly paint job on the Rolls. Must have been Yoko's idea! Don't forget that little black washer under the screw next to the neck. Its pretty small but you can see it.

Despite the guitar was probably just a toy for the girl whom I purchased it from, it's surprisingly in very good shape..... just a couple of small dings behind the neck.
Greg Curtis Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Looks like you made a nice score Duane, Congrats!
duane v Posted October 18, 2008 Author Posted October 18, 2008 Looks like you made a nice score Duane' date=' Congrats![/quote'] It was a nice score, however there's noticeable scratches on on the bridge pick-up cover. So I took the guitar to work yesterday because our chrome vendor makes the majority of the deliveries on Friday. I showed him the nickel on the pickups and the other hardware. He basically told me he couldn't guarantee uniformity with the other hardware if I were to only give him the one pickup-cover to re-nickel.. So basically I took my guitar apart in the middle of the Shipping & Receiving Department, and gave him the trapeze tailpiece and both pickup covers... So it's down until Wednesday, but it's costing me $0.00
