charlie brown Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Looks Great, Jeff! I see you took the "E" off the pick-guard. Or, did it just fall off? (Mine was loose, but that's no big deal, to fix..or remove.) Have you had much chance to "wring her out?" I finally got to play mine, last evening, at "stage volume," and just about "peed my pants," at the tones I was getting...through my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. I'm very pleased, with this purchase. Hope you, and the others, will be, too! CB
dbirchett Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 This Riviera reminds me very much of my first guitar, a Harmony H76 like this one (except mine had a pickguard): I thought and still think that the three switches is the way to go. Infinite control and mixing.

stan 58 Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 As you know i'm not crazy about P 90s, but that guitar could change me!!HNGD. Stan.
JefferySmith Posted October 25, 2008 Author Posted October 25, 2008 The "e" came off with the pickguard plastic cover, but that's fine with me. I peel them off anyway. I don't much care for the "e", and don't have any tattoos either.
JefferySmith Posted October 25, 2008 Author Posted October 25, 2008 As you know i'm not crazy about P 90s' date=' but that guitar could change me!!HNGD. Stan.[/quote'] Stan, it is a very nice guitar. If there were an Elitist model of it, I'd probably go for it. I always kicked myself in the butt for not getting the 3-P90 Zephyr. I'm just not a jazz box kind of guy. And I'm not really a Bigsby guy. But, as CB mentioned, there are a lot of different sounds that this guitar can make. I'm liking it better than I thought I would. I've been fiddling with Musser Rings, and they do well on this guitar. I may not even lower the action.
charlie brown Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Musser rings? Stan. Rings (Invented by James Musser) that allow "slide guitar" techniques, with minimal interference to normal fretting, too. CB
JefferySmith Posted October 26, 2008 Author Posted October 26, 2008 Thanks CB that clears it up. Stan. is a rather noisy video on YouTube showing a guy playing with Musser rings. They allow playing slide on single strings as well as freeing up the fingers for regular playing.
dbirchett Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 That helps. Stan I'm sorry, I should have indicated that my "Musser Rings" was a hot link to the web site.
