starman
Hey all. I was planning on getting a Vox AD30VT around the holidays, but then found this on Musician's Friend: http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product?sku=483552 Is this the new model of the AD30VT? If so I'm gonna grab it instead. It seems to have all the features of the AD30VT, plus a little more, I am definitely interested. Thanks.
scott58
You really need to try that amp. A couple years ago (based on rave reviews on the net) I went with cash in hand to buy one of those thinking it must be what I was looking for. Tried it and the XL and couldn't stand it. Ended up buying the DA 20 which to my ear has much better tone. Wasn't til my G/F wanted to learn to play and I got her a Vj combo that my true love affair began. Vj + POD XT Live or greater and you got the best practice rig on the planet.
klast
Yes, it's the new model. Has more amp sims and separate reverb. I had the old model in parallel with my VJ combo and, although it sounds more "tubey" than an all SS amp, the VJ sounds much better. Klas
davidg3333
You can read the Vox page about it here: http://www.voxamps.com/us/valvetronix/vt-series/ If they normalized the volume levels across the models it might be interesting. Lots of stuff going on in modeling amps these days, however, I'm thinking of getting into just a plain old tube amp myself. I have the AD30VT and it is OK but I think I want something more. The feeling is ill defined but there all the same.
