aharps Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 My SG isnt epiphone or gibson. Its from a certain company begining with T. Am i going to get in trouble with the moderators for posting it?
Bender 4 Life Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 These are some really nice looking SGs! I've never actually played an SG' date=' but I really like the G400 Custom. Does it play as good as it look?[/quote'] Mine plays out so well that it's my "go to" solidbody.......I must have gotten the "only 1" that gives great tone from the stock p'ups, as i've never felt any need to swap them out. The downside is that its dreadfully "neck heavy" and has to be held in place with my inner forearm when i'm standing, luckily, this doesn't affect my picking hand. Is the Les Paul SG that much heavier? How does it balance out? I may be selling a kidney to purchase 1 if its properly balanced.
jcwillow777 Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 SGs are pretty much neck heavy, there may be a few exceptions, but that is the nature of the beast. I don't have any problems with the dreaded neck dive on either of mine. I use a good leather strap with suede on the side that is against my clothes. That holds the guitar in place with no problems and no hands. I also have a cheap $2 strap I got from MF a while ago when there was a sale. I just glued a piece of suede leather to it and use it too, I have no problems with that strap either.
charlie brown Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 My Faded Cherry G-400 with GFS Mean 90 in the bridge. Oh, cool...you got one with the bound neck! Looks Good! CB
