Epiphone Eagle

Hey everyone.

I was cleaning and restringing my old acoustic the other day, and I just wanted to see if anyone has heard of or seen an Epi Eagle Acoustic before. I ask because this is what my old acoustic is, and have only ever seen one other one besides mine and it was on eBay. It was made in Japan in the 1970's and the body is pretty standard Epi dreadnought. The fretboard is Rosewood, but the inlays are abalone stars with double at the 7th and 12th frets. The headstock is wide, with a carved out eagle, and the Epiphone name in Abalone. I will post some pictures, as I don't have any taken yet. Look forward to hearing about/seeing what you all have! Thanks!

It's probably an FT-200' date=' made around 1976 to tap in to America's bicentennial spirit. They appear on eBay from time to time. [/quote']

That's exactly what it is...I couldn't remember the model number and kept coming up with D-76 which was of course Martin's tribute to the Bicentennial which this ain't..... This is kinda like an FT-145 with a cut out eagle on the headstock...an interesting oddity but not hugely valuable... $200 (+/- $25 for condition).....made in Japan by Matsumoku as Johnl said...in 1976

Hey Guys,

My Eagle is an FT 200, with a Green Label.

I will post some pictures for fun when I learn how to post them. Any help on posting pictures to a thread?

Wow! They want $1000 for it! I bought mine six years or so ago for $100. Crazy!

Merry Christmas all!

Wantin' and gettin' are two different things. However, at the 11th hour before Christmas caveat emptor goes out the window. Wonder what it brought?

If it's this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-1976-Epiphone-Bi-Centennial-FT-200-REDUCED_W0QQitemZ260283394707QQcmdZViewItemQQptZGuitar?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116

It's still out there, unsold. I recognize the pic with the house trailer wood paneling of the same vintage as the guit tar. It's been for sale for a while. No wonder a Grand is a bit... nay a lot pricey for this one. It's a curiosity, more than anything. It' does have a heeled neck... which should be a better design. As well as the bicentennial charisma.. which doesn't float much with the kids today. It has been through the mill with it's scuffed logo. Without the 'bicentennial' spirit, 200 maybe. with the eagle add another 'C' note if you're feeling particularly plucky... but not with the scuffed Epiphone. Maybe 250 if I think I could get it in the house passed the wife.

You got yours for a 'C' note? You did okay.
