Has anyone out there experienced tone issues with their DR200S? I recently purchased a used DR200S (sunburst) for $100. It is a pretty guitar and has a sweet tone, but has no volume or bottom end. Maybe I got a dud. It was manufactured in Korea. If you have a DR200S, or have any ideas on improving the sound please let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

the way i understand it, a top(soundboard)has to "breathe".consider the pressure of strings ona top? how many "pickers" fail to de-tensor

the strings. if a soundboard was under pressure for a short time it'd be ok to have thin spruce, and wavy braces? but we gotta realise that's

not life as a spruce top works? try using a brass saddle for soft?(or fret nut, might help) but? harder surfaces absorb less energy so i like a bone

nut an saddle. you'v got motion at the area behind the bridge(bass tone)you trebble is at the edges of the sound board,i'l guess that deeper

isn't travelling thru the top with the same amplitude as the higher frequencies?

the idea is> experment?

Trositt, you could try something like changing to a different brand of strings or guage or changing the saddle and the action height of your strings to give you a closer sound to what you are looking for.Unfortunately for us we are not there to hear it so it's impossible for us to say what is going on, but for a $100.00 dollar guitar you can afford to experiment a bit without taking it apart. Just remember what strings work on one guitar may not work really well on another and sometimes it takes a while to find the right combonation of all things to make a guitar sound like a $4000.00 ax.Ship
