barefoot Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Hi, My husband has an accoustic electric guitar. I would like to buy him a nice strap for it. I was looking at different straps but am confused. Does an accoustic guitar use a different strap than an electric? If so how are they different? I was looking at Levy straps on Amazon. Thank you so much
geelinus Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 There's no difference between straps for electric and acoustic guitars. The Levy straps would be a fine choice.
taxman Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Yeah, no difference. Except for the aesthetic look of the thing. Acoustic straps are more "Earthy" - suede, leather - and a bit wider - 3 inches. Levy straps are fine and the Franklin straps are the ones I buy. Nice selection from them - great Earthy look to match the wood of the acoustic guitar. The suede ones are really nice...and not expensive at all. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_MI?url=search-alias%3Dmi&field-keywords=franklin+guitar+straps
bigtufguy Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Buy him a nice suede Levy. They're a bit expensive but it will probably be the last strap he'll ever need. They have a HUGE selection. I have them on all of my guitars. Check them out at http://www.sweetwater.com Great prices and free shipping on EVERYTHING ! HECK, I bought a $20.00 Levy strap and they called my house three days after it was delivered to see if I was happy with it. BEAT THAT for customer service !
