pohatu771 Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 I was at a local store yesterday (checking out a Gibson Spirit, if you've been following my activity), and they had a 1971, Japanese-made Crestwood for sale. I picked it up, and noticed it was heavy, but it felt quite nice. Two humbuckers and a vibrato. It was black, and as far as I could tell, all visible parts were original. They were asking $400, with the case. EDIT: That's a coincidence. I post this, and then I see that they have it listed on Craigslist. It's $389 now (I was sure it was $399 yesterday) and they say it's a 1972. http://rochester.craigslist.org/msg/973406652.html
duane v Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 I have one and just had it re-fretted with tall medium-wide frets like my JL Rev, and it plays like a dream.... And you're correct it is a heavy little sucker, but it's well balanced. The vibrato is pretty nice but stay away from aggressive dive bombing, it's a high E string killer
duane v Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Just looked at the craiglist images and the volume/control knobs, toggle switch pup selector, pick-guard and vibrato arm are not original.... however a nice axe nevertheless
