BusterBuck
My son's new les paul has a little crackle in the tone control knobs. Is there a quick fix, or should he replace the controls, or just learn to live with it.
Just Strum
I would first try some contact cleaner (Radio Shack) and see if that takes care of the problem. Epi pots are not known for being the best (and by no means the worse), but an investment in contact cleaner won't hurt and you can always use it down the road. TWANG
a sometimes easier fix. turn knob down all the way.. pull slightly on knob while turning to ten then keep pulling up and turn down. repeat pushing on the knob and do it both ways. you can repeat this a few times.. even going back and forth in the turning. and it cleans itself, very often. sometimes it's just a spec of something, or the path not quite connecting and that fixes it up. lostindesert
I think you mean noise in the POTS. Use contact cleaner. Peter
