TehLesPaulZorz Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Yes, I know I've posted way too many topics about this, but my B70 finally came. I've installed the Roller Bridge...I think, and now I have no idea how to get rid out the tail piece bushings with regular house hold tools
jcwillow777 Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Cut some small pieces of wood dowling, shorter than the top of the bushing, so you can get the threads of the screw to start in the stud. Then simply screw your stud back in and the bushing will pot out. As the stud makes contact with the dowing and pushes tight against the body of the guitar, the pressuer will cause the bushing to come out. Just screw it in until it is out.
Bender 4 Life Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Try the forum "search engine" or ask Twang........a few weeks ago he posted very detailed, step by step instructions on this very subject.
TWANG Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 wood inside the holes will work but it's a pain. get a hex head nut.. at the hardware store.. that will screw into your bushings.. the head should be small enough to pass through the bushing.. and the bolt portion should be longer by 1" than the bushing depth. that way, you screw it in.. it goes deeper than the regular bolts.. it pushes on the bottom of the guitar which wont move.. so the bushing starts coming out. hey.. scared the crap out of me on my lp.. I kept thinking the thing would break in the back. but that woods HARD and thick so you should be fine. just take it easy, sweat, and worry, and get it done. I have pics at photobucket if you want to see it done. tWANG
