George Harrison edition? George Harrison's Casino had two pickups as did John's and Paul's. If I had to have a Casino with one pickup it would be in the middle like this one, but I wonder why Epiphone was so stingy with one pickup on this guitar?

I smell a rat. If the seller is not bogus, he is an idiot. Read the description...

Here is an electric guitar that is the George Harrison edition. The style # e230t . This guitar is in excellent condition and has been in the owners collection for a very long time. The color of this one is called "Iced Tea". I do have other musical instruments and equipment coming soon so make sure you keep an eye on them. The collection I get them from is of a guy that played with some of the best. Hank Garland was his teacher and Lynard Skynard a great friend that he played with. and many many more. This guy has had an amazing life on and off the road hanging with some of the all time great artists. This one also comes with its original case. Please contact me with any questions before purchasing. Check out my other items!

If the "George Harrison" model is too pricey for you, you can always buy the other one he's selling, here:

That one is only a mere $3195. Looks like an old Dot or something to me... anybody want to do the legwork on the serial number?

Anyway, I want to meet this guy's friend, who played with that guy "Lynard Skynard". :-#

I'm not buying it, that's for sure. 8-[ This guy ahs no idea what he is selling, he has just seen $$$$ in the "Gibson" logo printed on the truss rod covers. Avoid these auctions like the plague.

That's good advice. Buying guitars on Ebay has some risks and those risks go up the more you pay and the less the seller knows about what he's selling. If I was spending that sort of jack I'd be sure to buy from a "guitar guy", not one who sells flower bulbs, etc.

I know who this guy is. He is out on the corner of Lichtfield and Olive every weekend selling his Bonzai plants.

Maybe I'll stop by next weekend and offer him $100 less than his asking price.

Lord knows both of them will still be available. :)

Edit: I can't believe someone would have a guitar for sale at $3500 and only show 1 lousy photo.

My philosophy with e-bay is to walk away if there is even one red flag. This has several red flags.

1. This guy is a plant seller, he does not specialize in guitars or musical equipment. He may not know how to evaluate an older guitars condition.

2. The price is not verifiable, you can't compare it to anything else.

3. Only one distant picture. There should be many close up photos.

I could see throwing away a couple hundred bucks just to see what you get, but not that much money.

don't blame him for the 2005 picture date though..

I haven't reset the date on my camera either.

;-)

TWANG

I would have a million questions before I'd consider that guitar.. the one thing it has going for it

is the single pickup.. very unusual.

what's that whammy?

I already emailed the seller and told him what info I would need to consider purchasing this item. He stated to me he would acquiesce to all my requests. I also told him I would fly out to his location for a in person pick up, and if the guitar in question met my expectations, I would release the funds through paypal.

To be fair, that was a model of the Casino in the 60s... but it's not worth $3500. Gruhn is selling one that's nearly identical for $1850.

The E230T is the single pickup model, the E230TD is the model we're used to seeing.

Okay, so even IF he has a '60s epi there worth almost half as much as he's asking... Why in the world would he think a '97 Dot would be worth a nickel over 400 bucks?
