midiman56 Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Hot news from Vegas ... no more colored buttons! Now we have colored strings! Actually this is fairly neat ... take a look! http://www.wired.com/video/latest-videos/latest/1815816633/finally-guitar-hero-for-actual-guitar/6738580001 MIDI
generation zero Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Pretty cool idea... shame it had to be Washburn that spearheaded it. Guess Epiphone was too busy figuring out how to cross an SG with an V and fit the bullseye paint scheme on it "tastefully". I expect it to be a slow start, considering it will only be for PC and Mac, not any of the current consoles... Hopefully it takes off though, it could be really cool once applied to something besides Disney tunes. Applying the "gamer" mentality to a guitar tutorial program could really attract a lot of kids to playing the guitar, which will help sales for all guitar companies. :-
IntelligentAl Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 I bet a lot of people will probably think this is a pretty dumb idea, but I think this looks awesome! As long as I can use my own guitar (and am not limited to playing the High School Musical soundtrack over and over again), I might think about getting this. It seems like a huge leap from Guitar Hero/Rock Band considering it can potentially teach you how to play guitar, so thumbs up from me! Disney is full of geniuses...
