1999nbmZ1281734025
Sorry if this has already been covered, the search wasnt playing nicely for me. Has anybody had any negative affects from performing th JP1 mod? Found it on another site yesterday, along with a video on youtube. Worked great for me, it really improved the tone of the amp. Just wondering if this "free mod" is going to cause any problems down the line...
Eracer_Team
by cutting the JP1 jumper all you are doing is removing the C3 cap from the first gain stage. That capacitor is one of the bass band pass cap's. Which removes a lot of the "fabby-ness" from the sound. The only problem I could see happening is if someone decided to put a switch on it... If they let the solder flow too much it could drip down to the chassis and short out. That person should have read up on amp safety and soldering skills first... but otherwise its 'safe'

Yes the gang usually throw a switch in there plus combine it with a 'negative feed back mod' which is well written about over on www.sewatt.
