RobinTracey Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I would post to a different thread but can't seem to post to them.
RobinTracey Posted January 15, 2009 Author Posted January 15, 2009 Ok, thread started OK. I bought a 1956 Les Paul Gold Top from them and it was truely appalling. I wont go into all the details but it was obviously sub standard. When I contacted them they said it was a factory second and offered a discount. To cut a very long story short, they replaced the guitar with another one which looks much better. However, the replacement came directly from China although it does look very good. My questions is "Can MzOnline actually supply real Epiphones or are they all fakes" ? I will do the various checks I read about on this forum when I get the guitar back as my son has it. As a matter of interest the MzOnline guys name is James and I actually have his home address in Bournmouth. I would report him to the police but I am concerned about the police impounding my guitar as evidence.
RobinTracey Posted January 15, 2009 Author Posted January 15, 2009 Finally, I tried contacting Epiphone with this information but they were not interested in that I did not get a reply.
wiggy Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 I'd guess, if the guitar came direct from China, then it's going to be a fake. Sorry! Best thing to do would be to telephone Epi/Gibson customer services and talk to them directly. As has been proven soooo many times here, you're only guarantee of safety is to by from an Epi/Gibson authorised dealer.
