i hate classical music Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 does the Les pauls look better with or without the Pickguard
Memphs1978 Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 off... and even more so if you got a nice plus top..or something like that
i hate classical music Posted January 16, 2009 Author Posted January 16, 2009 yeh its better without the pickguard.............. then who voted for the pickguard on?
Svet Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Some look better with while others look better without. It depends on the finish and the color. For instance, I feel my Tak Matsumoto would look rediculous with the PG on and it would be a shame to cover up that gorgous top. To me, the Standard Plus, though she has a beautiful top too, just looks right with the pick gaurd.
RSDx Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I hate polls, as often enough, the op doesn't include enough choices.....it ain't cut and dried/black and white....depends on the guitar's finish, parts, etc, and it entirely depends on the owner....who cares what others think. I like my pguard on sometimes, I like it off many times ..... qff and on - where's my choice ???!!!???B)
brad1 Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I agree with Svet and RSDx. It depends on a lot of factors. It's not just a simple "on or off" answer. I agree, polls like this are just a waist of time and effort. If you want to make a poll, by all means, put some thought into it!
AyushPresley Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 With some finishes it looks good..but with some it doesn't..I prefer mine with the Guard on..simply gives me the sense of security...lol...
GeeMan Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I say pickguard off, since both of my axes don't have one!
lostindesert Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I say pickguard on, since my axe has one. Peter
Big Norm Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Both looks nice...but I still prefer with pickguard on... as is mine.
Steven Lister Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Pickguards look oh so lonely without a Les Paul..., ...but a Lester looks terrific any way you present them. Hit every BLUE NOTE baaaby..., I'm going to play on:-"
midiman56 Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 +1 for Svet's observation! Depends entirely of the LP itself. I have one of each. It belongs ON the Ultra, but would look DUMB on the Prophecy GX. Having choices is good! MIDI
duane v Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Les Pauls look good with PG's........ IMO Casinos do not........SG looks good with PG's
ksuwins Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Goddamit...Svet. Never mind what...that's such a collection of axes...makes me bow once again...and give thanks that I got one! got one!!!
Notes_Norton Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 IMHO With. Most electric guitars look better with a PG. Besides for that, they keep you from scratching your guitar's finish. PGs are a lot easier to replace than nitro or poly finishes. Insights and incites by Notes
i hate classical music Posted January 17, 2009 Author Posted January 17, 2009 yeh..... its better with the pickguard on
Memphs1978 Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 yeh its better without the pickguard.............. then who voted for the pickguard on? stevecarzee Posted: Saturday, January 17, 2009 3:01:25 PM yeh..... its better with the pickguard on man make up your mind do you like them with or with out.????
JefferySmith Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Odd result IMO. I think that all guitars look better with the pickguard off. Unfortunately, guitars look worse when covered with pick scratches.
valriver40 Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 i vote for the pickguard on, as js said look out for the pick scratches.
i hate classical music Posted January 17, 2009 Author Posted January 17, 2009 best buckle scratches are worse
TWANG Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 I voted on. But I take mine off once in a while. I'm like groucho marx. madame how many children do you have? I have eleven children groucho. eleven children, madame. why so many? I guess I love my husband, groucho. well, I love my cigar, too. But I take it out once in a while. TWANG
