ronob Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 I just recently installed a Bigsby B7 on my Casino....a great addition. It seems to stay in pretty good tune with the original tune-o-matic bridge. However, I would like to try a roller bridge. I bought the Schaller roller bridge (GB 0590-010) without realizing I have to replace the mounting hardware. Replacing the original mounts would require modification to the existing body holes, which I would like to avoid. Are there any roller bridges available that will simply drop onto the existing mounts? Will the Wilkinson roller bridge drop in without modification? thanks...Ron
Stig Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Guitar Fetish has one that I put on my Casino (regular Chinese ltd. with B-700). Look for the one with the rosewood base for archtops, not the one for Les Pauls.
TWANG Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 http://www.allparts.com/store/chrome-roller-tunematic,Product.asp I've got one here from All Parts, but the billing isn't handy so I don't have the part number right now. It's marked BH 1993 on the bottom. If you use all parts they'll be able to tell you exactly which of their bridges is a drop in replacement for the epiphones. I'll describe it for you. it's the correct width, and the post holes are the same as epis.. the rollers are arced so they match the board radius. Unlike the schaller these have no side to side movement.. but they are spaced correctly and that should pose no problem. the front to back widtch is actually greater than the stock epi bridge, so intontaion problems will not occur with the longer travel. It's nicely chromed.solid. adjusts easily and smoothly. it feels heavier than the bridge off my lp which is the same as yours. I was going to ebay this one since I'm not supposed to sell in here and I don't wanna get booted. TWANG

ronob Posted January 30, 2009 Author Posted January 30, 2009 I received my roller bridge from Guitar Fetish today, and I couldn't be happier. I was thrilled that it dropped right in over the existing bridge mounts of my Elitist Casino. After adjusting the bridge heigth with the thumb screws, I tweaked the intonation on each string. The adjustments for the roller saddles are very smooth as I had the guitar intonated guickly. The B7 Bigsby definitely works smoother with the roller bridge, and the tuning is much more stable than before with the standard Tune-o-matic bridge. For those of you who are concerned about any loss of sustain by the addition of a Bigsby tailpiece and roller bridge on your Casino, your worries will be put to rest. I actually think the tone and sustain have improved with these additions. all the best...Ron
