bvarsel Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Bought a Les Paul a week ago and from the serial number I know it was built in June of '95. Pretty sure it's a "Studio" but was wondering if anyone can help me confirm this. Here's a brief description: Body; Solid Flat Top (No arch & no binding) Neck; Bolt on Fretboard; Rosewood, Dot inlay Head; Epiphone @ top, Gibson on truss cover Electronics; 2 Volume 2 Tone 1 Selector P-ups; Open in humbuckers in Neck & Bridge Body & neck are in great shape. Pickups are not bad but pots definitely need replaced. Pretty sure from the looks of everything this thing is still all stock. Paid $150 for it, set up the bridge, stop bar, pickup height and changed strings and she sounds pretty nice. Very warm with good volume at the pickups. Anyway, can anyone tell what model LP this is? wow just noticed the avatar I picked looks just like the guitar in question except for the color of the finish
IntelligentAl Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Since you have said that it has a flat top and a bolt on neck, I don't think that it is a Studio (Studios have carved tops and set necks), but from your description I would take a guess at it possibly being a Les Paul 100. I am not 100% sure about this, but some pictures would definately help.

bvarsel Posted January 28, 2009 Author Posted January 28, 2009 Thanks all and yes come to think of it it is more like a 100 than a Studio.
IntelligentAl Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 If the Les Paul 100 does have an arched top then I'm afraid I have no idea what your guitar is. You will definately have to post a picture of it or we will not be able to tell you what it is for sure. Either way, how does your guitar sound?
bvarsel Posted January 28, 2009 Author Posted January 28, 2009 The axe sounds great. I'm going to change out the pots, caps, switch and jack. Probably will change out the pick-ups too. I haven't played in quiet a while and am just getting back into it. Didn't want to plunk down a bunch of cash until I know I'll continue. I think for the $150 I paid and the $200 I'll probably end up puting in it it's a pretty decent deal and for the sound I don't think I could have beat it.
