Lord Summerisle Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Is there such an animal and if so' date=' how rare...(like chicken's lips?) :- [/quote'] More like rocking-horse manure. You may find a 12-string Riviera: I believe that these were produced in the '90s, and also as an Elitist model. I do not know of the Casino ever being produced as a 12-string, but having said that I imagine I am now going to be corrected on that issue by a more knowledgable member shortly... Rickenbackers aside, there seems to be a dearth of 12 string electrics being made these days. It's a pity. I've never been a fan of the Fender Strat XII. To be honest, I've never been a huge fan of solid body 12 strings period. It would be nice if Epi could find room for the Riviera 12-string in their regular line-up.
charlie brown Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Not sure (I'm not a Luthier), if the Casino's structure would hold up to the tension that a 12-string produces? And, even if it would, the feedback problems with just 6 strings, would be augmented even further, with the octave strings. So, the Riviera seems a much better choice, for their 12-string. I'm a Rickenbacker "nut," for electric 12-strings...but, the Riviera would be a strong/close 2nd choice, for me. CB
Parabar Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 The Riviera 12 string is currently being manufactured by Eastwood guitars, only they call it the "Nashville 12." New York mini-buckers and everything.
DizzyFingers Posted February 2, 2009 Author Posted February 2, 2009 Thanks for the replies! I'll keep my eyes open for a Riviera...at least I know what I should be looking for... :(
