Cliff
I have a Les Paul Custom, about 20 years old. A few of the machine heads a slipping a lot now, I'd like to replace them. Mine don't say Grover, they say Gibson, and I'd like to replace them with what is on there. As you can see in the pic, they also open to help string the guitar. Not sure what that feature is called. I've searched quite a bit, but all I can find are Grovers. I'm not debating their quality, I'd just like to keep it original. Thanks, Cliff
Silverbursted
I've been looking around for a while trying to find that type of tuner with no luck. I did find some vintage guitar part retailers that sell pieces and parts to tuners. Perhaps you can get in there and replace the gears. I have no idea how easy or difficult this task would be, but it would certainly keep your guitar original. Good luck.
