duane v Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 As some of you already know I'm embarking on a Gibby JL jr project, however I felt I should give a review on this instrument as I recieved it stock, because by this time next week it will have some significant upgrades. Feel The guitar feels very fat. After seeing images, I thought the body would be thinner than the average les paul. But it's very thick. The neck is very solid and comfortable. However addtional fret dressing would be a good idea. Finish Very pretty, and deep (satin cherry). However I was a little disapointed that it states "MODEL" instead of "JUNIOR" on the head stock.... But I'm over it. Sound Well we all know how the Gibby P-90's sound. If I wasnt so intruiged with the JL Junior, I would leave this wonderful guitar alone. IMO for $800 it's a steal of a guitar
sexygibson Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Keep us posted Duane. Would love to see some photos.
duane v Posted February 12, 2009 Author Posted February 12, 2009 I will do before and after photos. This is the first time I have ever hacked up a guitar, and I really hope it comes out like I envision.
