gr8jake Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 I never had an archbody electric before. I am now the proud owner of a Joe Pass Epiphone. How do you adjust the intonation on one of these. It was pretty easy with my Fender strat but this is completely different. Thanks in advance.
lostindesert Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 If it's the pre-intonated rosewood bridge set the intonation for the high and low E-strings. The bridge base isn't glued to the top so you can move it in both directions. Peter
InsideMan Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Depending on the kind of music you play, "spot-on" intonation may be more or less important to you. If it is crucial, setting the intonation on the high and low E's may be just a starting point. In this case you need an accurate tuner, and should go over all the strings to find the best compromise overall. If you are REALLY fussy, you could replace it with a tunamatic. You can get complete assemblies, including rosewood base, online. Try the compromise approach first, though. It may be good enough. Be aware that things will change if you change string gauges. Also, to keep your bridge position, you should change strings one at a time. Cheers. PS-Congrats on your new guitar! Enjoy!
