Luap
I don't think this is the first time this is asked. But, could you help me with my choice, or give a link to an old discussion about this subject? My point: If I want the best Casino, which one should I buy? Thanks! charlie brown
Whichever one you want/can afford! They're both great guitars! Only real difference is the "Lennon" package (case candy, case with Lennon graphic, etc.) and Nitro finish. The "Elitist" is Poly finished. Otherwise, they are the same body/scpecs. The tuners are period correct on the '65 Lennon version (Kluson), on the same version Elitist, they're Grovers. 2 hole "E" truss rod cover, on the Lennon version, 3 hole "Elitist" TRC, on the Elitist version. Elitist has metal bridge saddles, the Lennon version has nylon (which is period correct, for that time). If you want a great playing and sounding Casino, either would be just fine! If you want a "Collector's piece," then the Lennon version would be more in line. CB
AS90
I would be perfectly happy with a standard Casino. Is there really that much difference?

charlie brown
But' date=' the John Lennon Casino is not per se "better quality"? Not a better tone, sound etc?[/quote'] "Better" is subjective, to a point! What I suggest, above all...is to go find both an Elitist and a Lennon version and play them side by side. Only YOU can determine which YOU'll like better. Both are Great guitars! The Lennon versions will be as close to a "vintage" one, that you can get, in a new guitar. Nitro finish, and all. But, Elitist are wonderful instruments, in their own right. So... It's really up to you. CB
Lord Summerisle
If you want a "Collector's piece' date='" then the Lennon version would be more in line. CB[/quote'] I think that you might be getting a "Collector's piece" anyway with the Elitist, or at least an investment-level instrument. Let's face it, all the other Elitists have gone, so how long before the Elitist Casino also bites the dust? If Gibson ever re-introduce the ES-330 into their line-up on a permanent basis, the Elitist Casino will become a thing of the past instantaneously.
