samysamyking Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 You could try craigslist, but I can't guarantee they will have any.
Ian123 Posted February 21, 2009 Author Posted February 21, 2009 Thanks for the replys, Im looking for new
Ron G Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 You'll want to buy it from an authorized Epiphone dealer in order to avoid a counterfeit and to be covered by the warranty. For online, I recommend Sweetwater because of their superior service. If you prefer to buy locally, most shops will match online prices.
Ian123 Posted February 21, 2009 Author Posted February 21, 2009 Thanks for the help man, Il check it out now
tvyelwhiteflag Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Just a tip, if you can't find one in the States, try Long and McQuade in Canada, they're owned by the Gibson/Epiphone distributer up here and they often still have outdated Epis in the system that aren't available in the US any more...plus, our dollar stinks again :0)
Ian123 Posted February 21, 2009 Author Posted February 21, 2009 Thanks for the help il check that site out and yep the dollar is terrible at the moment haha, cheers
lostindesert Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Try this in the Netherlands, www.feedback.nl Go to electrische gitaren (page 5); '56 Goldtop 499,- Euro. Peter

Musician's Friend apparently still has them. Better hurry!
brianh Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I've had OK service with MF. Makes mw want to order one. Hurry up!
jcwillow777 Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Sweetwater doesn't have any, that was where I got mine, and I do recommend them for their service. This is interesting. MF will be getting some on March 3rd, but they are discontiued?? Maybe they are being made just for them http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Epiphone-Les-Paul-1956-Goldtop-Electric-Guitar?sku=518320
Dave Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 If I were ordering a guitar online again, I think I'd buy a case and ask for the guitar to be shipped in the case. My Goldtop got shipped in the Epiphone box inside a larger box with only some crushed paper inside. The foam inside the Epiphone box was exploded into pieces from sliding around. Lucky as it was, the guitar didn't have a scratch. I was both shocked and amazed at the same time. The '56 reissue Goldtop is a real bargain at $399 if you can find one. It's a great guitar, and one that comes with really good P90 pickups. By the way, it's the one in my Avatar.
