wrighty3693
Lets look at this in a media studies context; Connotations of White: Peaceful, Elegant, Natural, Angelic ect Connotations of Black: Death, Dull, Evil, Unknown ect Hmmmm ........... I wonder what connotations i'd rather my guitar have? P.S Theres lots of undiscovered English Slang that many people wouldnt expect lol. charlie brown
Hmmm, well....I (personally) equate "black" in clothing and guitars, as "elegant!" Some can look "evil" I guess... but that's at the descretion of the owner, as much as anything...the style he/she buys/plays, etc. My "Lucille," my (black) Strat, and LP Junior Lite are more the "Elegant" variety...IMHO. But, I like all varieties... "Spice of Life," and all that. CB

charlie brown
Well, probably not yet, but they might cause that, later. ;>b Saw a video shoot, of her...delightful girl, with a good attitude. Enjoying her "fame" but doesn't seem to be overwhelmed by it. I hope that attitude will continue... I think she just looks nice and "healthy!" Not TOO big, but quite decent. Quite trim, otherwise, too. A Stunning combination!! Now, if we only had some photos, with her wearing nothing but a really nice Epi or Gibosn guitar...all would be right, with the world! OK, "frothing" over. Carry on! LOL! ;>) CB

charlie brown
Yeah, I fell "in Love," with British "Birds," in the '60's...same time I fell in love with Epiphone guitars... The Casino, and Sheraton, especially! Back then, it was Jean Shrimpton, Twiggy, Pattie(Harrison, Clapton) Boyd, Julie Christie, Vanessa Redgrave (see the movie "Blowup!"), Susan George ("Straw Dogs"), Judy Geeson....on and on! So, Keeley and Peta, are just the latest, "fantasies," for me. LOL! My trip to St. Louis, MO. to see The Beatles, at Busch Stadium, August 21, 1966...was heaven. The girls, that were in the hotel we stayed, had that "English Bird" (Mary Quant short, short skirts, and Ironed (straight) hair) look...Yardley makeup, and rather tasty flavored lipstick ("Slicker" I think it was called), so...to a 16 year old, Kansas small town boy...that was an AMAZING experience, all the way around! Ahhhhh, the "Good Old Days!" ;>) Oh, and Suzy Kendall and Susanna York, too...don't want to forget them. And, those lovely "Vampires" in the old "Hammer" Dracula movies, with Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee. What a feast! ;>) CB

charlie brown
No decent 'birds' in Kansas back in the day CB? I wish they all could be Carolina birds... Decent, Oh Yeah...we had them, for sure! Nice looking, too...save the "brillo pad" hair styles, and "cat eye" black glasses. YUK! LOL! They came around, though...and once they ditched those...they were a LOT "hotter" looking! It's just that St. Louis, with all those Beautiful girls, and "The Beatles" to boot, was such an overwhelming experience, it seemed "Surreal" (in a great way), if you know what I mean? And, there still are great looking women, in Kansas...but, too often, as in the rest of the world, they go out of their way, to downplay that beauty, seemingly. "Too much trouble," or "Who cares?" Seem to be the reasoning, now. I don't know...back then, it seemed like we ALL cared more, about what we looked, dressed, and acted like. At any rate, I really enjoyed that time, musically, and fashion/style wise, too. Remember the scene in "Let It Be," where the camera man is on the street, getting crowd reaction shots, and some inteviews, with passersby. There was one segment, where they followed a girl, with beautiful legs, and a VERY short skirt, a lot longer than they had to, but not long enough, for most of the male audience members! LOL! So, it was a universal feeling, I think. CB

Notes_Norton
I've posted these so many time, I suppose some people are sick of looking at them. But since you asked...... Before "Gibsonizing" After "Gibsonizing": I've also got a black LTD and Epi flat top and Leilani owns an Alvarez classical, Parker PM10 Hornet, and Ovation but I don't have any pictures of them. Perhaps someday I'll polish them up, get the camera out, and take a real family picture. I have to ask....what kind of photos do you take?! Is your dark room full of swimsuit models? Only if I can fit them in! ;>) I used to do a lot of "Fashion/Glamour" photography' date=' but now I mostly do landscape, weather related (lots of wild weather in Kansas, especially in the Spring/Summer months), abstracts and some "figure" work, now and then...IF I find a willing and intriguing model/subject. But, in small town Kansas, [i']that's[/i] pretty rare. So, I mostly do all the other. Most of the "figure work" I do now, is the figures of my guitars! LOL! And, even so...it's pretty cut and dry "snapshots." I probably Should, do some more interesting, moody, illustrative shots, of my guitars. Maybe one day, I will? I do have several ideas, in that area...combining guitars and models, but haven't found the right model, yet! So...??? CB

charlie brown
How do you like that Roland Jazz Chorus Amp? I've often thought about getting one, just for the "clean" tone factor, for my Rickenbacker 12-strings. So, I'm intested in what you think of it, and why? Thanks, CB[/quote'] I love my jazz-chorus amp, tons of clean headroom. The distortion that comes with the amp is kind of a joke, but I have always used my trusty DS-1 for distortion and my sparkle drive for overdrive. A lot of people don't like the amp because it doesn't have the fender grit, but I can always achieve the sound I want from it. They are reliable, and can be gotten at a relatively good used price. charlie brown
Well, yeah...grit is easy to produce, and HELL to get rid of! LOL! So, that's one reason I thought the JC would be good for the Ricky's. Roger McGuinn has stated that he felt the Roland Jazz Chorus was the best amp, for that clean "jangle" tone. And, HE should know. ;>) Thanks, CB
PJPJ
Part one: Part two: We have very similar tastes. Until recently I had a Tele, a Dano DC12 and a Casino with a trapeze tailpiece and played them trhough a Blues Junior. I recently sold a lot of gear off, including the Dano and the Casino. The Dano went because I bought a Maton MS500/12 and the Casino went because I wasn't playing it much. Both items sold very quickly (there were eight people in line for the Dano). I bought another Casino a month after I sold the last one. Just missed it too much. The Blues Junior, however, stays. Nice pics. Might post some of my own. Unfortunately, I don't have much in the way of pics of my old gear but I'll see what's there. PJPJ
