Been a guest too long.

I'm an Epiphone Casino man through and through but have owned a number of epiphones including the TERRIBLE chinese EJ-160e (yes, big beatles fan too!) and a 57 reissue Les Paul Junior. Chinese quality wasn't up to scratch with the korean stuff so don't buy it any more... although I think they'll get better. Soon adding an Elitist Casino.

Dream guitars:

Vintage 60s Epiphone Casino ES 230TD

Gretsch Country Gent or Tennessee 1962 Reissue

Welcome to Monkey House. I GASed for a Gretsch Country Gent and finally found a Gretsch Country Classic on fleabay. Close to the gent, but it has real f-holes and no padded back. Very nice guitar.

Nice! I would be happy with a country classic. Since the buyout, they're calling them Country Gent again now. I'm in favour of the no back pad (sweaty) but bound fake f holes (no feedback).

Duane: You have impeccable taste!

Welcome, Clarkuss! Lots of "Beatles" and Casino fans here, too. We're all lamenting the loss of the "Elitist"

line, as well. Hope they'll keep the Elitist Casino around, though...at least for awhile, yet. I'm fortunate,

to have a few Gretsches, too. 2 Duo-Jets (1 "pre-Fender" '57 Reissue, and 1 "post-Fender" '57 TSP...AKA "George Harrison" version), and a Vintage '66 Country Gent...that's in Great condition, EXCEPT for the dreaded "Binding Rot," that is quite common, for those years. So, I'm currently looking for someone to rebind it, for less than the cost of a new "White Falcon!" LOL!

So, stick around, and enjoy! Lots of good folks here, with good information, and decent senses of humor/manners, for the most part! ;>)

Thanx

I noticed the black and white ET-278 you have..... I would love to get a skunk colored ET like the one you have=p~

I do dig my ET-275, especially after having the jumbo frets installed... It feels very similar to my 2008 Gibby faded SG

I'm thinking about getting rid of mine. I don't really play solid bodies very much but I'm reluctant because it looks so cool.

I'm glad I'm getting my Elite Casino then if they're not going to be around long. I think we'll see a lot more custom shop reissues like the Beatles guitars and the new Wilshire. If I could choose Epiphone's next release then it would be a decent reissue of the Granada, Century and Sorrento.
