jrich44 Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 I've been on the search for a left handed casino for about a year now and cant seem to find one anywhere! I ordered one from a guitar shop i wont name but they have still not delivered it to me and i ordered it in around October- September Can they be bought anymore?
pohatu771 Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 From what I've read, the left-handed Casino hasn't been made in several years. Your best bet is to buy a used one.
jrich44 Posted February 27, 2009 Author Posted February 27, 2009 i suppose so.. if i was going to get one ideally I'd like a Korean one
larkin38 Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 I saw one on e-Bay a while ago. I think it had a red finish on it. Didn`t look good to me. If I had money for one it would have to be a sun burst model. But lefty anything is hard to find now.
John Beef Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 You could do like the guy in your avatar and flip a righty over.
jrich44 Posted February 28, 2009 Author Posted February 28, 2009 just over a year ago i saw one on ebay and that was the last one i saw, howver i was after the dot at the time, i really regret that now. i have been thinking about swapping one over but have been advised not to by many, is this a good idea?
jrich44 Posted February 28, 2009 Author Posted February 28, 2009 thankyou very much i had a look around their website the prices seem very reasonable i suppose it would be the sheraton then seeing as i cant seem to find a casino although i will keep looking and i also have the dot which i may add a bigsby to but not sure what else it would do apart form look cool as im not vey wised up on guitars:-k thankyou
Yew Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 if in doubt, do a Hendrix, and modify a RH model to lefty
jrich44 Posted February 28, 2009 Author Posted February 28, 2009 i might just do that, my only concern is that the tone pots might get in my way?
bluelake07 Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 I'm one of the fortunate few that owns a lefty MIK Casino. I held mine the way a righty would and didn't like it; the pots and pickup selector are just below my shoulder and would be in the way. Yes, one could work around it like Sir Paul, but I wouldn't buy a righty and flip it. You might consider buying a Dot and switching out the humbucker pickups for Seymour Duncan Phat Cat P90's that will fit humbucker routing. Some folks would say that the result is better than a Casino; a P90-equipped guitar with Dot center block to reduce feedback. I just added an upgraded wiring assembly (thicker wires, Orange Drop capacitors, CTS pots and quality pickup selector) and a bone nut and would definitely recommend those mods to any Epiphone owners.
jrich44 Posted February 28, 2009 Author Posted February 28, 2009 that is very good advice never thought about putting P-90s in my dot. and if i added the bigsby as well... do you think that would be good?
bluelake07 Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 that is very good advice :-never thought about putting P-90s in my dot. and if i added the bigsby as well... do you think that would be good? All I know about Bigbys is that you'd need to get a left-handed one. You might start a new topic asking about experiences others have had. Here is a video of a guy installing one on a Dot:
jrich44 Posted March 1, 2009 Author Posted March 1, 2009 had a look at that video, seems pretty simple, however i dont htink id trust myself with an electric dril drilling holes into my guitar:-s still considering swapping a righty guitar over anyone had any experience with that?
