KYSohn Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Just saw this on Craigslist. http://louisville.craigslist.org/msg/1057311656.html I assume a 1960's Gibby has got to be worth more than $200... What's going on here? Unaware seller, or fake 60s vintage???
pohatu771 Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 I'm not an expert on it either, but that seems to be a relatively normal price. Low-end of average, I'd say. I'd also guess that it's a CF-0, or at least CF series (if there was even more than one model). I've never played one. [EDIT] I just noticed, it also needs a new nut... so factor that into the cost.
JohnMcClane5000 Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Not every Gibson has to be 3000$... It's like some 60's Fender amps aren't that sought after, therefor not 'that' expensive.... A guitar is always worth more when some fookin star held it in his hands once and was photographed... that's how they get their Mojo/Value... This thing might be the greatest guitar ever built... why not sell it for 200? Nick
KYSohn Posted March 2, 2009 Author Posted March 2, 2009 Got it!!! (See, this shows how much I know about "vintage" gear...) :D Though, I had to admit that I thought it could be one of those stories on CL. You know, the stories of an old widow finding a dusty & rusty ol' guitar or amp (like, 60s Fender Bassman or 50s LP) from the attic and sold them for like $200 on CL just to get rid of them... I'll keep looking for a decent Tele or Alleykat... (please, where are you??? Come to daddy~!!!)
pohatu771 Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Actually, looking at eBay, this is quite a deal... people there are asking $400 for guitars in similar or worse condition. Also, it's a C-0... not CF-0.
