jnstrom
I can't believe they took it off the display for me to play. I was in my shorts and sandles. It was a Heritage Cherry Sunburst. I hope they didnt see my drowl hit the pick-ups. It sung to me and pounded my heart. Im in love, I wonder if they will take my car as a trade in. Some day... It will be mine... mine all mine and I will lock my self in my room and never come out. (except to eat and poop of course).
iownanlps
It really is quite a special guitar. I love the way it sings and resonates. The sustain is awsome. Clean or Rock it begs for more. I think that the price makes these beauties out of reach in as much as most would rather buy a 'known quantity' like a Custom for a bit less. This might remind you of the sounds

Mash94
I love the supremes they are real beasts but the only things that keep me from wanting one are the weight (chambered) and the price....
Mark
I think with the state of the sales these days, they'll let you play anything. There sure seems to be alot of price reduction and sales. I almost bought a Trans-amber supreme a few months ago and now its gone. Well I am glad you enjoyed the Supreme I think its a beautiful guitar. Ian Martin
but the only things that keep me from wanting one are the weight (chambered) and the price.... Hell, considering the new Standards are practically hollow bodied I guess it really doesn't matter anymore, eh?
iownanlps
I love the supremes they are real beasts but the only things that keep me from wanting one are the weight (chambered) and the price.... The weight is increased with the addition of the carved back, the guitar body is thicker than a normal Les Paul.

iownanlps
forgot about that... how much does she weigh?? 3.5 kg or 7.7lbs which is not bad for a chambered guitar.

The Traditional I played was 9.1 lbs Yeah, I like heavy too. But the Supreme is no lightweight especially where it counts in the sound/sustain department. Plank_Spanker
The few Supremes that I have played were beautiful guitars, but..................... A figured back? I worry enough about buckle and snap rash on the plain backs of my LP's. Pickups...............why put the 498T / 490R combo in a such an eye candy guitar? You can get those pickups in a Studio. These guitars are screaming for better pickups. A set of 57's or the like would go much better with a guitar like the Supreme. To be honest, the three or four I played sounded just like my Studio when it had the 498T / 490R pickups in it. I'm really not bagging on the Supreme. It just seems to me a guitar topped off on eye candy, with nothing extra to add as far as sound. Standing by to get flamed................... Tim Plains
Plank_Spanker, LP Customs, SG Standards & ES-137s also have the 490/498 combo. It's a pretty good set, if you ask me.

I had the 498T / 490R set in my Studio since I bought it new in 2001. I liked them for a while, but I guess my ears changed. They started sounding grainy to me. I replaced them with Suhr pickups and never looked back. Just me, but with all the pizzazz that the Supreme offers, I think it needs pickups to further separate it from the herd. It's a big dollar guitar - give it big dollar pickups. Make it "Supreme" in all respects.
